About Us

Hylee Training is owned by Alicia Harper. Alicia has been involved with horses for over 30 years now. She has ridden and competed in almost every province in Canada in a variety of disciplines including eventing, dressage and over fences and all Western disciplines. She has shown breed in Arabs, Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosa over her career.

Alicia currently competes in Reining and is a NRHA money earning professional trainer who holds Equine Canada Competition Coach certification in both English and Western Disciplines. She also trains and competes in General Performance.

Alicia’s current students range from those just starting their riding careers in the Tiny Tots lessons to those working towards becoming a professional rider. Riders currc learn to ride to stay in shape. Everyone is welcome at Hylee Training.

Alicia holds multiple coaching certifications including Equine Canada Competition Coach, Equine Canada Instructor, the new Western Basic Training, Western Competition Coach and NCCP Level 1. She has coached many coaches to achieve their certifications and is currently training for Equine Canada’s High Performance Coach Status.

Alicia’s true love is in developing well rounded amateur horses. Both for the English and western disciplines. She is well known in the industry for creating safe amateur horses and clients continue to come to her first when they are looking for horses.
