Hey Everyone,

Just a quick note to get everyone up to date. I know my notes are a little sporadic lately but I’m working on it! If you are getting this email you are either a client or past client of Hylee Training.

Schooling Shows

We have just completed our second schooling show of the season! Lots of first prizes! Both Greystone and Crescent Shows were both a success. Megan won the over fences champion at Crescent and Kirsten won the flat champion. I am amazed there were any prizes left for the rest of us…. Kirsten, Megan, Heather and Stephanie were off to the Greystone show yesterday morning and very tried and groggy (note I did not say GRUMPY). Once they got there and the blood got flowing – they all woke up and brought home ribbons in every class. Flash also made his debut in the show ring in the morning with Megan with a 2nd out of 4th in walk/trot.

The next show on the books is Mission’s English Western Show on April 10th. It’s an English Western show. I’m still working on the class list but if you would like to attend please let me know. And we are always looking for helpers. So let me know if you are available.

Clinics

This month there are two clinics one is a free feed session with a local feed dealer. Its at DRC and it’s at 10 am on Saturday 2nd. Let me know if you would like to attend.

The second is a clinic with Sue. Yes our own Sue (my coach) the topic is dressage and it’s really affordable $40. The clinic is the same weekend but on Sunday the 3rd of April. If you would like to attend cost will be the $40 payable to DRC and $20 for hauling to the clinic. I am riding in it! Please let me know ASAP as I will be booking times this week. It’s really a great way to get a different perceptive on your riding. I encourage everyone who can go to attend. For those of you not able to ride in it – we can always watch.

Theory Night

Theory Night this month is STABLE MANAGEMENT – which really is learning all about how to take care of your horse! Theory night will be from 5-6:30. We always have a bite beforehand so please bring a dish. It’s potluck. We had the best turnout last time and I’m hoping for some good turnout in April as well. Let me that weekend of if you are coming. Theory night is held at Crescent in either the lounge or above the indoor ring. And as a motivator. I’m going to have a few prizes :)

Training Materials

Some news on our end is  – we have uploaded our past theory night presentations to our slideshare account here: http://www.slideshare.net/AliciaHarper/documents If you are interested please take a look. Also, Janelle, megan and I are working at making the rider levels a bit easier by breaking out the information in separate levels which isn’t the case in the HCBC books. We are hoping that this will make life easier for those of you working towards your rider levels. We hope to have the first level done by end of April.
